2015 "FIFTEEN"

“The blend is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Syrah and 17% Carménère. The wine was aged 18 months in French oak (35% new). This is a bold and generous wine. Aromas and flavours of dark fruit mingle with spice, fig, dark chocolate and tobacco. The wine has long, ripe and polished tannins. 94.”

2015 Cabernet Sauvignon - Sold Out

"Everything about Lariana is boutique – their five acres on the US border in West Osoyoos, their 1,100 case production, and the fact they have made only 90 cases of this delicious cabernet. And it is 100% cabernet, a feat rarely endeavoured in Canada. It is a lovely, rich, elegant and supple wine with very pretty, lifted cassis, florals and finely stitched oak on the nose and palate. Classy, with excellent length. Tasted July 2018.” 93 Points"
~ David Lawrason, principal WineAlign critic

"This is Lariana’s first bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon and what a well -chosen vintage for its debut. 2015 was a very warm vintage in the Okanagan when the “king of grapes” can achieve its full potential especially in the vineyard at Lariana. Steeped in the rich aromas of boysenberry pie with its accompanying spicing, the flavours are further intensified by a touch of violet and all wrapped up in chocolate -covered cherries. Suave yet firm tannins support the mid palate and carry to the exceedingly endless finish."

Enticing aromas of dark plum blackberry with broad hints of licorice and black olive weaving through. On the palate, further flavours of intense black cherry with glints of chocolate and coffee. All richly integrated and melded with generous yet subtly submerged tannins.

The blend is 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Syrah and 12% Carménère. The wine begins with aromas of cassis lightly touched with mint. On the palate, the flavours are savoury and earthy, with notes of black cherry, black currant and black coffee, mingling with peppery dark chocolate and polished tannins on the finish. 92.

"Year 3 of the Lariana Blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvingon 63%, Carmenere 11%, (all estate grown) with additional Merlot 26% from the Naramata Bench. Yielding aromas of ripe crushed blackberries and black currants, the structure is further supported by their same silken richness. Dark plums laced with a chocolate licorice note continue to the intensely generous flavourful finish."

"Firm and age-worthy, the wine begins with aromas of black cherry. On the palate, there are flavours of black currant, black cherry, leather and tobacco. 93 points."

2017 Viognier - Sold Out

"The fruit is 50% sourced from the Shady Lagoon Estate vineyard with remainder from Red Brick vineyard on the east side of Osoyoos lake. Fermented separately, both fermentations and aging are completed in concrete.

Upon a swirl in the glass, lush white peach with lime-grapefruit lurking in the wings dominate the aromas. Same flavours are further enhanced by a creamed yellow apple and all embraced by a high-pitched lemon curd finish."

2015 Carménère - Sold Out

“There is very little late-ripening Carmenere growing in Canada's latitudes but at tiny Lariana, metres from the Canada-US border customs facilities in West Osoyoos, it is something of a signature red. And the hot 2015 vintage has helped, creating a rich, structured red with lovely, ripe blackberry and floral notes. No greenness whatsoever. It is full bodied yet quite elegant with fine tannin. Effortless and very engaging with excellent length. Tasted July 2018.” 92 Points

Lariana Cellars

Growing Together

Welcome to Lariana Cellars, a boutique-style winery featuring small lot, handcrafted wines from Osoyoos, BC. Our story began decades ago with 10 acres of property on Osoyoos Lake, located at the southern most tip of the Okanagan Valley. Originally known as Shady Lagoon Campsite, the lakeside remains an RV Park while the upper portion has changed from orchard to vineyard.

It wasn’t until 2007 that the promise of a shiny new tractor inspired us to replace our fruit trees with grapevines. The vineyard was planted under the advice and direction of one of the Okanagan’s most respected pioneer in grape growing. The countless hours we invest and the careful growing practices we employ result in premium grapes that are a true reflection of our unique microclimate. Hot, dry days and cool, crisp nights set the ideal stage for producing deep, flavourful varieties such as Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenere. In 2012, after three years of selling our crop to local wineries, we decided to take the plunge and Lariana Cellars was born.

Hard Work and Light Hearts Create Serious Wine

At Lariana, we’ve been exploring the art of viticulture since our teens. From the days of working at Shannon/Pacific vineyard on Black Sage Road in Oliver, to hauling grapes down to the coast to be crushed under the feet of friends, to our beginnings of making Okanagan wine with friends for many years, to our early dabbling in creative at-home experimentation, wine has always been our calling. Founding family members, Larry and Anna, were a huge influence on our decision to follow our passion. Their unwavering foresight and zest for adventure inspired us to name our winery for them, keeping our motivation to have fun creating serious wine constantly on the tips of our tongues.

Our garage-style winery is located alongside our 5 acre vineyard and we are very much involved in every aspect of the winemaking process. With the help of a professional wine maker, we love combining classic vinification practices with innovative new methods to produce wines that are sure to leave you wanting more.
